If products can't be found on Google, you lose a path to business
For businesses doing foreign trade or targeting overseas customers, the worst fear is that products are clearly listed on the official website, but customers can't find them on Google no matter how they search. An outdoor equipment company encountered this situation: the official mall had dozens of tents and sleeping bags, with complete images and descriptions, but overseas customers searching for "camping tents" in Google Shopping scrolled through several pages without seeing their products. Later they discovered the problem wasn't the products themselves, but that the product data wasn't submitted in a way Google could understand. Google Shopping needs a structured product feed, not just any webpage link that can be crawled.
The "Google Product Feed" feature in KingCMS X1 solves this problem. It organizes products in the mall into a format Google Shopping can recognize, allowing Merchant Center to fetch them or the site to actively push them. For businesses doing overseas trade, this is equivalent to opening an additional entry point for products to be seen.
Two submission methods, choose according to business habits
X1 provides two ways to send products into Google Shopping. One is "pull," where Merchant Center periodically fetches the product feed file, and the business only needs to provide the address to Google. The other is "push," where the site actively submits products through the Merchant API, suitable for businesses that want product changes synced as soon as possible. The two methods can be switched in the backend without changing code.
In push mode, product publishing, delisting, and deletion all enter the push queue, submitted in batches by scheduled tasks. The backend shows pending push tasks, successful and failed entries, and push logs for checking. If a push encounters a problem, you can quickly identify which product, what action, and what error was reported. For businesses with frequent product updates, this feedback mechanism is very practical.
Product check: discover details Google dislikes in advance
Google Shopping has its own set of requirements for product data. Missing brand, missing barcode, title too long, no main image—these all affect how products are displayed on Google's side. The product feed page in X1 has a "Product Check" that lists item by item what listed products are missing or non-compliant. For example, if a product doesn't have a brand filled in, or the barcode length is wrong or the check digit fails, it will be flagged here.
These reminders don't affect product saving and output, but it's recommended to fill them in one by one. A home goods company initially didn't pay attention to the brand field, and the product information displayed in Google Shopping was incomplete. After filling in brand and barcode, the completeness of product data improved and better met Google Shopping's requirements. Product Check helps businesses handle these details in advance, so they don't have to wait for Google to report problems and then go back and fix them.
Works for multilingual sites too, target country and currency configurable
Businesses targeting different country markets can specify the target country and currency in settings, and product prices will be output in the set currency. Multilingual sites can also specify the output language through language parameters; for example, an English site can generate an English product feed separately. Default shipping, product condition, return days, and other information can also be configured uniformly, reducing the hassle of filling in each product individually.
For businesses operating in several overseas markets simultaneously, this means they don't need to maintain a separate set of product data for each market. Set it once in the backend, and the product feed can output for different countries and languages. Of course, the product information itself still needs to be accurate, and the reminders in Product Check should be addressed where needed, so that the display effect on Google's side is guaranteed.
Give products one more chance to be seen
Google Shopping is one of the important channels for overseas buyers to discover products. Getting products in means one more display spot where customers search. The Google product feed feature in KingCMS X1 makes this simple: organize products, check data, choose pull or push, and leave the rest to scheduled tasks. Businesses don't need to understand technical details to get products into Google Shopping.
